Teaching Skills Assessment Program (TSAP)
Eckerd College actively supports teaching as a career through the activities of its Alternative Certification for Teachers (ACT) office.
A unique product developed and offered by the ACT office is the Teaching Skills Assessment Program (TSAP). It is available as a standalone product or as part of a complete program. The TSAP is a series of seven diagnostic instruments designed to provide current-state assessment of teaching knowledge, skills and ability to demonstrate specific behaviors in the classroom. Results of the TSAP can help you identify strengths and areas for development as you consider entering a teaching career or an alternative certification program. The TSAP is also helpful in designing a professional development plan for beginning teachers, including those entering in-service training, an alternative certification program or an internship experience.
